Unless your insurance specifically includes track days then you will NOT be covered on the track. Specialist insurance companies are available that include track cover, but obviously this is more expensive. If you are worried then it is possible to buy one day cover for the track, this is anything from £40 to £200 depending on the value of your car. Track insurance only covers your vehicle, no matter who caused the accident. The unwritten rule on a track day is that you fix your car if you bend it; anyone else you may have collected on the way has to fix their own cars, even if it wasn’t their fault. It sounds harsh, but everyone takes the same risk on the track. If there is a driver out there who is driving in a manner that is likely to cause an accident they will get black flagged and removed from the circuit. Most of the time however people are there with the intention of enjoying, not destroying, their cars.
